Travelling and how I miss it...
Traveling. There is something about visiting new places that always gets me Oh-So-Happy. Okay, to be honest, I haven't visited many countries in the world. Our family transferred a LOT, but all of it was in our country itself. We used to bounce from one city to another, staying in one place for a maximum of one year before we get that "wonderful" promotion. As a kid, I didn't mind moving from place to place, but as I grew up, I started getting lonely. I don't have any siblings, nor do I have any pets. Changing from one place to another meant I had to leave my friends behind. I don't have that problem now, I have been successfully staying in one place for the last four years. I like staying in one place for some time, but that does not mean I want to stay in the same place for 10 or 20 years. Ever since 2018, our family has started going on trips to places. We went to Singapore that year and we went to Rishikesh, India the next year. This was exactly what I was missing during the Covid19 period.
Singapore was breathtaking. The tall skylines, the lights, the rides; it was awesome. Rishikesh on the other hand was peaceful. The people there, nature, the river; God, the river. After all the years I understood why the river Ganga was so great. It was beautiful but at the same time, it was intimidating. It stretched wide. My dad and I, being the adventurous ones of the family, went river rafting. It was my first time so we decided to go on the smaller route, the 7 km one(i guess. I have a bad pretty memory) It. Was. Awesome. I love Adrenaline rushes. Needless to say why I love roller coasters. I love all types of adventurous things. And yeah, if you didn't get after all this, yes, I am a tomboy.
This year, I wanted to go to Europe. Gods, I love that continent. It has all my favorite countries in world-Italy, Greece, U.K, France, and Switzerland. I loved Italy and Greece due to uncle rick, (am talking about rick Riordan). The Coliseum and the Parthenon are all kinds amazing and are SO. FREAKING. BIG. I loved the fact that I will be standing in a place where thousands of famous people have stood before. I love the UK because of their accent. Ok, there are some places I want to visit but still. Damn, I love a good British accent. France is because of the Louvre museum, NOT because of the Eiffel tower. I have been an ardent Da Vinci fan ever since I read the Davinci Code. Cliche I know. But I loved the mystery of the last supper. I still didn't get the Mona Lisa though. I know ita a young adult book but let's face it. Thirteen years olds today aren't innocent (NO I DONT MEAN IT THAT WAY!) I didn't steal it or anything, my father bought it for me. I read when I was 11, I finally understood it when I was 13. (some parts, It was an abridged version don't worry) Finally, I love the Switz because, well, Nature. Ok, its because I have never seen snow in my life. And winter in the swiss is said to be GORGEOUS.
I Don't mean to make the people reading this nostalgic or anything. I can't help but gush about my favorite places in the world, or any of my favorite things in fact. You will see when you read more of my posts. It's just that, COVID 19 has taken so many joys of our lives- traveling, meeting our friends, Eating out, etc, etc. It's fair enough to say that 2020 is the most shitties- sorry, crappiest year. (forgive me for that swear word. I am a teen, can't help it) So yeah, googling the places we want to see is the only thing we can do.
Peace✌,
Sam
