The wonderful and absolutely marvelous world of books...
This is gonna be LOOOONG. Trust me. To all those looking for new books to read- here you go😉
Long title I know. But remember how I said I love to gush about things? Yeah well, this is the proof for that statement. I know the title sounds very sarcastic, but no. Just no. To say it as shortly as possible in one sentence- I Love Books. They are just so- Ahem, keeping it short.
As a kid, I loved listening to stories. My mother used to tell me stories to distract me while I was eating so that I could actually swallow the food. I was a fussy eater. Still am. Later my father took up the tradition and started telling me stories before I go to sleep. The stories weren't any great moral telling story, no. They used to be about dinosaurs in office (pretty sure that was his boss) and about animals in forests.
Fast forward some years.
I remember whining and complaining about reading a book more than 50 pages when I was 8 years old. My father, being the good person he is bought my first fictional story. I didn't read that book for one whole month, just to spite him. Yeah, I agree, I was a very sassy 8-year-old. Finally one afternoon, I took the book out of its cover and inspected it. The title? Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.
Book after these years...
This was another reason why I didn't read this amazing book for one month. Even as a kid, I wanted an authentic story. Something believable, not something cheap out of a kids' book. I thought that Harry Potter was one of those stories where there will be a princess and a prince. Now, if I had a time machine, I would slap my 8-year-old self and tell her to start reading the book. Don't worry, I started reading the book after that afternoon. I finished the book in 2 months, something I used to, I repeat, USED TO, take pride in. I started loving the series and soon started gobbling up the books. Every time I asked my father to buy me a Harry Potter book, he used to have this annoying I-told-you-so smirk on his face.
When my aunt heard that I was reading the Harry Potter series, she was happy that I have finally, FINALLY taken an interest in Harry Potter. When I was 7, I had seen the Deathly Hallows movie CD at her house and thought that the series was total crap. When I finished the first book, she decided to "test" me. She used to ask me simple questions, to check whether I had actually read the book or whether I had skipped the pages.
Fast forward 2 years. I had finished reading 5 books at this time. She told me to take a break from the HP series because, well, it was the 6th book next, and I was too young. So instead she told me to try out the Percy Jackson series.
I soon started gobbling up the Percy Jackson series. But, I always kept an eye out for when I will be old enough to read the 6th book. Finally, I read it when I was 11. Which was basically one year after? *insert rolling eyes here* Till now, it's my favorite HP book. As for the Percy Jackson series, I was fangirling about Percy and Annabeth.
When my 11th birthday came parents had given me the best gift for a reader. They gifted me a KINDLE!!! I received it exactly at 12:00 in the night and god I screamed around like a mad girl and hugged my parents like a monkey.
After the Percy Jackson series, I read the Heroes of Olympus, which is basically a sequel series. After I finished that(can you blame me?) I finished 4 books the Trials of Apollo, which is a spin-off series. 4 because the 5 the one is not released yet.
Of course, these aren't the only books I have read. Like I said in the last post, I have read the Davinci Code. I have read the Shiva Trilogy and the Ram Chandra series by Amish, an Indian author.
I have also been reading the Aru Shah series, (reading 3rd book as of now😁)
This lockdown has made me read a new genre- Romance. I know, I know. I am not talking extremely smutty stories that makes you very uncomfortable, but about actually good romance stories. Recently, I read The Bad boy and the Tomboy, and let me just tell you, IT. WAS. AWESOME. I have been fangirling about this book too much in my head and this blog is PERFECT. If you haven't read it yet, GO READ IT. I read it on Wattpad for free, right before it got published. So for all the poor souls out there who haven't read it for free, you are gonna have to wait till October 15th
This post has basically been a rambling-about-my-books post. Although if you are looking for new books to read, this may help you. But remember, I said may. I am thinking about a part 2 of this, but this time it will be Wattpad books... This is not decided, mind it.
So, yeah, until next time,
Peace✌'
Sam
I didn't mean to offend anybody by my posts. It's just my opinion. I am sorry if you got offended.
